Many problems in the chemical and other branches of process industry are closely connected with crystal habit modification, e.g. the prevention of crystal product caking, the preparation of easily filtering precipitates, and substances with optimal flow and storage characteristics and so on (1, 2). Of course, crystal habit modification is also a subject of considerable fundamental interest and this aspect of the problem must also be considered here.
