Abstract

psychosomatic medicine has repeatedly been criticized that already by its title it conserves and perpetuates the Cartesian dichotomy: simply replacing his pineal gland by a hyphen the logical impossibility of the Cartesian dichotomy is succinctly stated in the so-called Bieri-Trilemma some recent attempts to solve the Bieri-Trilemma have been briefly reviewed holistic-emergentist theory (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2012 APA, all rights reserved).
