Abstract

The analysis and investigation of technical systems and processes is based upon the requirement to establish safe and reliable system behavior, and controllable system states. By the depiction as systems the analysis is put on an abstracted level which allows covering many different technical systems described by their fundamental physics. On this abstracted level a general analysis of closed loop control issues is possible using several methods and techniques. The resulting procedures are applicable to a various number of system classes. The main purpose of any depiction and analysis of control systems is to achieve safe system behavior and reliable processes. Power is nothing without control, that might be a credo and the fundamental motivation for any system investigation to prove system reliability and safe system behavior. © 2009 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
