Abstract

Forest management involves a variety of objectives, including the output of forest products, the provision of recreation opportunities, the protection of the biological elements (such as endangered species), the maintenance of watershed values, the conservation of soil, the control of pests and diseases and the reduction of losses due to wildfire (Church 2007). © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
