This final chapter corresponds to a summary, from the perspective of the editors of this book, the main concepts, and applications shown by the diverse authors of the previous chapters. The main goal is to identify future challenges in the study of social-ecological systems in Latin America and their potential use for the management of complex issues in a risk society.
