Abstract

The layout of business process models has a substantial effect on their understandability. However, currently only few layout properties are well defined, thus appropriate support for creating well-laid-out models is limited. This position paper indicates the importance of developing a collection of layout features which will correspond to meaningful layout properties perceived by human. It reports an exploratory study for obtaining such a collection.
