Pediatric vascular anomalies can be generally classified into two broad categories: hemangiomas and everything else. More specifically, clinicians must understand the difference between hemangiomas (and a handful of other biologically active, proliferative vascular anomalies) and biologically inactive, non-proliferative vascular malformations. © 2011 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC.
