Abstract

Urban agglomeration is a highly integrated and urbanized cluster of cities. Via extensive literature research and quantitative analysis, this work combs through 120 years of studies and research on the connotation of urban agglomeration and how urban agglomeration’s spatial extents are defined, then proposed 10 definition criteria based on the review.
