The future of the relationship between the EU and the US: Managing interdependence and global responsibility

Abstract

The transatlantic relationship, the centre point of Western Europe’s security and defence architecture, as well as of its political and economic agenda for at least five decades, is characterized by symmetry in the economic power of the US and the EU and asymmetry in their international presence.
