Abstract

In summary, long-term surgically implantable formulations of antipsychotic medication are a viable mechanism to improve adherence in a subset of patients with psychotic disorders. Additionally, implantable formulations can be applied to many disorders where long-term medication is indicated including affective and nonpsychiatric medical disorders.
