Marine molluscs as indicators of former sea-level stands.

Abstract

Within the large group of molluscan species, those indicating shallow-water environments are outlined taxonomically. Examples of the use of marine molluscs for recognizing earlier sea-level stands are given. It is possible to differentiate between littoral, shallow- and deep-water environments. -from Author
