Abstract

The introduction of the da Vinci®robotic system (Intuitive Surgical, Mountain View, CA) has created new opportunities in minimally invasive urology, especially in laparoscopic reconstructive procedures when meticulous maneuvers are mandatory Now that robotic prostatectomy has become a standard procedure in the treatment for localized prostate cancer, nearly all urological laparoscopic procedures have been reported with robotic assistance.1,2Without repeating the known advantages of robotic application in laparoscopic urology such as enhanced dexterity through EndoWrist®instrumentation, motion filtration, and three-dimensional (3-D) visualization, these characteristics would undoubtedly be advantageous in laparoscopic ureteral reimplantation because of its reconstructive nature.
