Abstract

Surveys the general climatic setting of the tundra and in the light of this perspective the IBP site data are then examined. These 11 sites span almost 22 degrees of latitude and range in altitude from sea level to 3500 m. They include sites that are generally moist to wet at low latitudes and those that encompass a moisture regime from almost total aridity to saturation, depending upon microtopography, at higher latitude and altitude.-after Authors
