Abstract

Multicriteria Decision Making is being widely applied in natural resources planning. For any environmental plan to be successful, it requires the support from the group of affected stakeholders. Due to the manipulative feature of any aggregation method, we intend to clear the involved process up. We focus on the analysis of the data structure, and the normalization procedures. Conducted experiment shows that the normalization procedure used in each criterion affects the outcomes and that it can be necessary, in order to help distinguishing alternatives, the use of normalization procedures especially chosen for every kind of data. © 2010 Springer-Verlag.
