Abstract

In view of the problems of poor thermal stability, poor oxidation resistance, low interfacial tension and easiness to emulsify etc. in lube-oil furfural refining, studies by taking the following intensifying measures were carried out in a Φ100 mm rotating disc tower: (1) Addition of antioxidant 2,6-Di-tert-butyl-para-cresol (DBPC) into furfural; (2) Addition of demulsifier dodecyl benzenesulfonate (DBSS) into feedstock. The results showed that under the test conditions, the above two intensifying measures can improve the effect of refining and increase the yield of refined oil. For both DBPC and DBSS, the suitable concentrations were all 0.02% in wt. of the furfural.
