The use of Artificial Intelligence in medicine enables vast quantities of data to be processed in a short time and high levels of accuracy. However, since it is an unprecedented technology, the Science of Law is compelled to adapt itself in order to deal with legal demands arising from this reality. Using the research method of bibliographic review, the paper analyzes relevant aspects about the accountability for Artificial Intelligence actions in medicine, identifying key characteristics of systems that use Artificial Intelligence to perform, reflecting about the theme in the medical area and analyzing the responsibility for harm incurred by the devices that use Artificial Intelligence to operate. It was found that the use of Artificial Intelligence involves risks that must be weighed against the benefits that it could be experienced, mainly because there is no relevant legislation in Brazil on the topic of accountability for Artificial Intelligence autonomous actions.
