Abstract

Myrsine argentea is described as a new species from Mt Burnett, NW Nelson. Myrsine argentea is distinguished from M. divaricata by its growth habit, and by leaf, floral, and fruit characters. As Mt Burnett is being actively quarried for dolomite, M. argentea is considered to be a threatened species with a conservation status of vulnerable. © 1998 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
