Abstract

The paper presents the results of assessing the ecological condition of the lands disturbed during the development of the Volchansky coal deposit in the Sverdlovsk region. In the course of research it was found that ecologically acceptable restoration of vegetation on the territory of waste dumps occurred partly due to restoration work, and mainly due to the natural processes of its self-restoration.
