Abstract

An operationally simple one-pot synthesis of functionalized bicyclo[2.2.2]oct-2-ene derivatives has been developed using a novel multicomponent coupling of α,β-unsaturated aldehydes, carboxylic acid anhydrides, and dienophiles. © Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, 69451 Weinheim, Germany, 2005.
