During the whole Late-glacial and Holocene times, only two glacial recurrences (the Younger Dryas and the 17-19th centuries) reflect deep climatic changes. Emphasis is laid on the thick and long-lasting snow cover. Besides these two recurrence periods, the major events observed mainly evidence the influence of drought: glacial regression and formation of rock glaciers. -Author
