Abstract

The research project, still in progress, developed a proposal procedure to visualize a 3D models of an hidden collection of Museo Egizio in Turin. The prototype procedure exposed is focused on the visualization of 3D objects shapes and additional information by networking the enriched 3D model. This preliminary output is part of a broader purpose that aims to make a dialogue between container (museum) and content (museum collections). The use of building information modeling (BIM) tools and technologies could not only apply to the building’s life cycle, but in this case, it could be deeply connected to its museum collections which themselves contribute to the continuous museum’s transformations. The consequence of the new relationship between container and content is also the development of procedures to support the set-up project.
