Abstract

Multiculturalism is a belief that states that ethnic or cultural groups can coexist peacefully and respect each other. The purpose of implementing multicultural values in the Merdeka Student Exchange Program is to discover how the process of implementing activities describes and the factors that hinder the implementation of multicultural values. The method used is a qualitative case study, where the research takes data directly on ongoing activities through interviews, observation, and documentation, then conducts data processing activities from data relevant to the discussion. The results of this discussion are the implementation of multicultural values in the Independent Student Exchange program: (1) Multicultural values have been well implemented, as seen from democratic values, humanist values, and pluralist values; (2) Some activities illustrate implementing multicultural values in the independent student exchange program; (3) The factors that hinder the implementation of multicultural values are internal factors and external factors.
