Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the properties of polyester resin polymer concrete containing various amount of aggregate. The mixtures were prepared with three different aggregate to binder ratio of 70/30, 75/25 and 80/20. After mixing, all samples were cast in the standard molds and left to harden at room temperature until testing. The results show that the final setting time of binder was 50 minutes. Further, the polyester resin polymer concrete with 70, 75 and 80% aggregate achieved compressive strength of around 422-447kg/cm2 within 24 hours after mixing and achieved compressive strength of approximately 572, 540 and 525kg/cm2 respectively at 7 days of curing.
