Informed choices

Abstract

This article describes the various investigations and studies which were carried out to build up a picture of the geology of the Chep Lap Kok airport site. The onshore geological model was developed from 1989 mapping of the original island together with site investigation boreholes. The offshore model was developed from extensive marine seismic reflection surveying. Geology and key geotechnical features are detailed.
