Abstract

The article proposes a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) solution for e-learning materials semantic annotation purpose. The proposed services extend the current elearning standards facilities of associating metadata to Learning Objects by expressing each metadata in the most appropriate metadata standard format, and also by using the suitable highlevel ontologies and domain ontologies in order to annotate the concepts inside the Learning Objects. © Springer Science+Business Media B.V. 2008.
