Abstract

In this article we propose a method for linkage analysis that is based on Bayesian statistics. It is non-parametric in the sense that there is no need to specify disease parameters such as penetrance values. We show that the method has significantly more statistical power than existing methods on artificially created databases. Finally, the possibility to extend the method to multi-locus diseases is discussed. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2002.
