Abstract

Process models are an important element of business process management. Modelling and management of these models can be supported by business process patterns. In recent years, various approaches for defining such patterns were introduced. The aim of this paper is to promote the precise classification of these approaches by presenting a catalogue consisting of several criteria developed by means of a systematic literature review. A first evaluation of this catalogue is conducted by classifying ten pattern approaches. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2014.
