Abstract

In this paper we present the parallel version of a CFD solver which works on unstructerecl 3-dimcnsional grids. The parallelization was achieved using the MPI library. The program includes a method for dynamically adapting a grid on a parallel computer. Grid adaptation is one of the reasons that lead to a poor workload distribution. Therefore a dynamic load balancing method was implemented in order to make sure that the available hardware is utilized in an efficient way. The paper concludes with the presentation of a performance test. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2005.
