Abstract

This chapter presents a South Korean perspective on the Arctic region, and discusses strategies for cooperative maritime capacity-sharing which have been addressed by various governmental, quasi-governmental and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). South Korea’s interests in the Arctic region include the maintenance of peace and good order, the development of energy reserves, and the opening of new sea lanes of Communication (SLOC) in the High North.
