Abstract

Current climate change has been considered a clear, unusual, anthropogenic, worrying problem, over many decades. But it is also a global concern which presents quite a challenge for today’s society. Differences between developed and non-developed countries concerning vulnerability and resilience are notable, but they all are involved in mitigation and adaptation programmes to fight against their negative effects. These results affect not only environment but also population, in a manner which shows a close relationship between climate change, extreme poverty and social exclusion. This paper highlights the links between these issues so, it focuses on the main relationships between the conclusions stated in the IPCC last report (AR5th) and in the Paris Climate Agreement, as well as the United Nations proposals through The Milennium Development Goals and Sustainable Development Goals, which attest the most dramatic face of climate change. Besides, it focuses on the results of the main policies of mitigation and adaptation undertaken to fight against climate change.
