Abstract

Several recent large studies have provoked concern among both health professionals and the general public regarding the safety of hormone replacement therapy (HRT). This article provides a review of the current literature surrounding the risks and benefits of HRT in postmenopausal women, and how the data can be applied safely in everyday clinical practice. © 2009 Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
