Recently, creative thinking has become one of the many skills that are in great demand, developed, researched and colored by changes in education systems and curriculum adjustments. For teachers and prospective teachers, the habit of creative thinking will greatly affect the preparation of teaching activity plans. This study intends to analyze the creative thinking habits (Creative Habits of Mind) of prospective elementary school teacher students. This is intended to determine the extent to which prospective teachers have the habit of creative thinking, especially regarding the development of pedagogic competence in the classroom. The analysis of creative thinking habits of elementary school teacher candidates in this study used the Creative Habits of Mind indicator from Bill Lucas and the measurement of creative potential through the Torrance Test Creativity and Creative Thinking Habits Inventory from Tidd & Bessant. This research uses quantitative descriptive research. The research was conducted on students of the PGSD study program, Faculty of Education, Bhayangkara University, Greater Jakarta. The study was conducted on 31 research samples selected randomly. The research instruments used were creativity tests, questionnaires and rubrics for assessing creative thinking habits. Data analysis used descriptive quantitative data analysis. The results showed that student teacher candidates with high GPA tend to have high creative thinking habits and vice versa, students with low GPA obtained low creative thinking habits in 3 tests, namely two Torrance tests and one creative thinking habit inventory questionnaire. The study shows that student teacher candidates with a high cumulative achievement index tend to have high creative thinking habits. It is hoped that this research will encourage student teacher candidates to be able to develop creative thinking habits.
