Abstract

Today the Neurodegenerative disease is one of the major concerns in the Healthcare industry. There are several types of Neurodegenerative disease and it directly affects the driving force of the body, Brain. As a result the involuntary movement occur such as tremor and this causes disability, which leads the person to depend on others. To support the disabled person, an assistive device for self-feeding is designed using IoT. The main theme of the project is to design a handle, which senses the movement of the hand and accordingly it create a counter action on the quivering action of the hand. The measurement parameters, the deviation of yaw, pitch and tilt of the spoon is measured using MPU-6050 and it is fed into the Arduino Uno Board. The Arduino Uno takes counter measure to make the spoon in stable position using servo motors and this helps the patients to act independently. This project uses the advantage of IoT to serve better for the Neurodegenerative disease affected community and also to monitor the condition of the patient health.
