Abstract

Traditional games playa an educational role in society as well as to convey the values of the popular culture. In addition, the participants take part in a motor activity according to their features fostering social relations among same and different generations. Traditional games help to preserve customs and the game heritage throughout oral tradition, being considered as a part of culture. This paper is focus on teacher’s perceptions about traditional games as a bridge among the different cultures found in the classroom. That is way the paper is entitled “from the possible to reality”. Three focus groups are analyzed where teachers of public and private schools with different contexts (marginal and standard) from urban, periphery and rural areas of Granada participated. As a result, it was shown that there is a feeling of lack of training towards handling cultural diversity along with a lack of sensibility concerning the loss of oral and experimental tradition customs. Despite the fact that the need to recover traditional games is urged, there is no allusion to the cultural aspects of them
