Abstract

The use of interactive applications to support group work is increasing. However, the development and, in particular, the design of this kind of applications is complicated. In recent years, the development based on conceptual modeling has acquired a greater importance and attention. This chapter presents a review of the main notations for the analysis and modeling of interaction and collaboration. This study has allowed us to detect that there are no proposals that tackle both issues jointly. We have created a methodological approach to solve this lack. This proposal includes notations, tools and procedures to give a comprehensive modeling support of groupware applications. © 2009 Springer-Verlag London.
