Abstract

Despite the overrepresentation of Latinos in the criminal justice system and increased attention and research focused on sexual offenders over the past 20 years, there continues to be a dearth of research and clinical writings dedicated to exploring the dynamics of treating Latino sex offenders. The current chapter will discuss the potential impact of Latino culture(s) on the etiology and clinical presentation of Latino sexual offenders. Additionally, methods for using cultural concepts, identity, and dynamics in the treatment of sexual offenders will be presented.
