Abstract

The study is the result of an investigation initiated in 2018, within the framework of the Manos a la Paz Program implemented in the Medio Atrato municipality, located in the Colombian Pacific, with children and youth of school age enrolled in an educational institution in the locality. Beth. The objective of this article is to describe the social representations of young people from the Middle Atrato around education and the armed conflict. The research is qualitative at a descriptive level framed in the interpretive paradigm and the classical hermeneutic methods and Grounded Theory. For the collection of information, a semistructured interview was used, whose data was processed through the Atlas Ti software. As a result, the social representations of children and young people around education maintain a close relationship with the phenomenon of the internal armed conflict, reconfiguring the idea of education and its importance.
