Abstract

In this paper a compact and simple Ultra Wide Band (UWB) Band Pass Filter(BPF) with dual notch band is proposed. Structure of the proposed filter comprises a Stepped Impedance Resonator (SIR) loaded with Interdigital resonator. SIR is coupled with input and output ports using interdigital coupling to create UWB pass band range of the filter. Intedgital resonators are loaded on the SIR to create notch band to reject frequency in the pass band of the filter. Pass band of the filter covers 3.1 to 10.6 GHz with two notch bands at 5.2 and 7.8 GHz to avoid interfernce from the WiFi and satellite comunication. Filter is designed on Rogers RT/ Duriod 6010, with the dielectric substrate of dielectric constant εr = 10.8 and thickness h = 1.27 mm. There is no via or defected ground structure is used in the filter which makes its fabrication easier and cost effective.
