Abstract

An introduction to the principles of engineering noise control is given. The techniques required for locating noise sources are presented followed by an examination of the different types of noise-generation mechanisms and the possible controls. A number of examples, drawn from mill experience, are used to illustrate how significant noise reductions can be achieved.
