Abstract

In the last few decades, cyclodestructive procedures, such as diathermy, cryotherapy, therapeutic ultrasound, β-irradiation, and electrolysis, have been employed in the management of recalcitrant glaucomas. Currently, the standard method of therapeutic cyclodestruction is cyclophotocoagulation, using a light source. The practicality, efficacy, and well-established clinical record of TCP make it a useful tool for refractory glaucoma management (Fig. 34.1) [1]. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
