Abstract

Technology has a positive influence on students. It improves students' achievement, motivation and attitudes towards learning mathematics. Unfortunately, based on some observations, there still found teachers who did not use technology in mathematics learning. This study aimed to describe the pedagogical ability of teachers to use technology in mathematics learning. It used qualitative descriptive research approach, while research subjects were 3 teachers of Junior high school Muhammadiyah 1 Malang. The research instrument consisted of a questionnaire and interview. Data analysis techniques used data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that (1) pedagogical ability of first teacher in using the technology was medium; (2) pedagogic ability of second teacher in using technology was high; (3) pedagogic ability of third teacher in using technology was medium; (4) factors led the inability of first teacher and third teacher in using technology in learning were the infrastructure, teacher competence, motivation of teachers, and the school environment.
