Abstract

Two new β-carboline alkaloids, epi-strictosidinic acid (1) and strictosidinic ketone (2), together with two known alkaloids, calycanthine (3) and strictosidinic acid (4) besides the triterpene ursolic acid (5) were isolated from the roots and leaves of Palicourea coriacea. The structures of the isolates were elucidated on the basis of spectral data, particularly COSY, HMQC and HMBC experiments, and HR mass spectra. © 2006 Verlag der Zeitschrift für Naturforschung.
