DAMPAK PROGRAM PELATIHAN LAS LISTRIK DALAM MENINGKATKAN STATUS SOSIAL EKONOMI EKS NARAPIDANA DI KECAMATAN PANDEGLANG KABUPATEN PANDEGLANG PROVINSI BANTEN

Abstract

The title of this research is The Impact of Electronic Welding Training Program in improving ex-convicts' socioeconomic status in Pandeglang, Banten. This goal of this research is to find out (1) the improvement of the electronic welding program on ex-convicts's skill development in Pandeglang, Banten (2) the improvement of the ex-convicts' socioeconomic statuses (3) factors supporting and inhibiting the ex-convicts' socioeconomic improvement after the electric welding training program. This research employs qualitative approach with descriptive method. The techniques used in collecting the data were interview, observation and documentation as well as collecting data and facts that occurred with the addition of several reference books related to the issues discussed. The participants of the research include the head of subsection of IIB Class penitentiary in Pandeglang and seven ex-convicts that attended the electronic welding training program. The research shows that (1) The training program has successfully improve ex-convicts' electronic welding skill; (2) The training program positively improves ex-convicts' socioeconomic statuses, which were reflected in their skill in electronic welding and the ability to build self-owned business in electronic welding. Two ex-convicts are working in welding business with other proprietary, three others are working in a non-welding field but are proven to have the welding skill; (3) the factors supporting the ex-convicts' social statuses are motivation, communication, personality, family environment, and the communities which increased the ex-convicts' social-economic statuses. While the obstacles for the ex-convicts' social-economic improvement are lifestyle and policy as follow ups and ventures were not given.
