Very High Bond tape is a type of adhesive often used for fast and efficient bonding of repair work as well as assemblies. One of many types of VHB tape is the acrylic based 4611F, which according to the product specifications has good properties at slightly elevated temperatures and is used for bonding parts of roof constructions of busses and trucks, glazing systems and traffic signs. This paper presents the results of lap sheer testing of VHB bonded aluminium specimens. The tests were carried out on both primed and unprimed specimens at the following temperatures: 20, 50, 100 and 150C. The results obtained show that benefits of priming exist only at room temperatures.
