Abstract

Banking industry is a key factor of economic development, although the information and communications technologies have changed in the last years, there are some countries were banking development is still incipient. This chapter show the evolution of the banking industry in the world; including the main innovations, this sector has taken place, and the challenges that it has to face. According with the Millennial disruption index, banking industry is the most risky sector, that is why, banks has to innovate constantly, especially in terms of communication channels and financial products access.
