Abstract

The electro-mechanical transmission is a complex system, any part of the system has fault, the system may not work as usual. The motor is the actuator of the system, if the motor has fault, the system may not work as expected. Also, there are many components of the motor, any of these may have fault, in the paper, the faults of the current sensor and the position sensor will be diagnosed. So, in the paper, the model-based fault diagnosis method will be used to diagnose the fault of the current sensor and the position sensor of the motor. First, according to the state function of the motor, the UKF method is used to get the residuals between the measurements and estimated values. Second, the cumulative sum (CUSUM) method is used to analyze the residuals to ensure the fault happens. The MATLAB/Simulink is used to demonstrate that this fault diagnosis method can diagnose and isolate the fault component effectively and in time.
