Abstract

This paper describes a middleware for building Semantic Web applications. The main idea behind this work is to help developers build Semantic Web applications by providing them with the main components for this task. This set of components has been implemented and made available using a Web Demo tool (http://khaos.uma.es/SD-Core). In addition, this middleware has been applied to implement two Semantic Web Tools: the Khaos Ontologybased Mediator Framework (KOMF) and the Semantic Field Tool (SemFiT). In this paper we focus on KOMF that has been used to build a Semantic Tool for integrating data from biological databases.
