Abstract

The application of Intelligent Traffic Simulation generally is composed of massive microscopic entities. These entities to reach certain scale are needed in order to achieve the accuracy and credibility of the simulation results, and each entity has its own patterns of behavior. The Intelligent Traffic Simulation must implement the simulation of microscopic traffic entities and the scalability of traffic solution. This paper introduces an ongoing research, which combines HLA and JADE to support microscopic traffic simulation framework, implements a prototype system to prove the feasibility of framework, and improves the prototype system based on the performance analysis. Some considerations about key technical issues of simulation framework are also discussed. © 2010 Springer-Verlag.
