This paper deals with possibilities of design of an artificial cochlea based on an array of resonators which could be produced by MEMS technology. Simple mathematical model of the array of resonators compound from masses with springs with different eigenfrequencies and also fundamental principle of signal decomposition by this model are described first in chapter II. In chapter III a choice of a shape of resonant beams is described and a finite element model of the resonant beams with surrounding fluid space is presented. Ratios of second and first eigenfrequencies calculated for different parameters of the resonant beams are main results of this work and they are presented also in chapter III. Finally a length of the resonant beams with eigenfrequency range from 100Hz to 5kHz is defined by simple equation. © 2009 Springer-Verlag.
