Curcuma zedoaria is a Zingiberacae plant commonly used as a traditional medicine. The objectives of this study were to isolate secondary metabolites from methanol fraction of rhizome and to identify the compounds using gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The methanol extract yield was 20%. Fractionation using radial chromatography and preparative thin layer chromatography produced fractions 3A1 and 3A2 which were then analyzed using GC-MS. As many as 47 compounds were identified in fraction 3A1 including two predicted compounds, namely lippifoli-1(6)-en-4β-ol-5-one (I) and 2-benzo-thiazole-2-thiol (II). The compounds identified in fraction 3A2 were as many as 58, including compounds predicted as α-cyperone (III), mandolin A (IV), 1,6-dimethyl-9-(1-methylethylidene)-5,12-dioxatricyclododecan-8-one (V), and benzo[1,2-b:4,3-b']dipyran-3,6-dione-2,2-dimethyl (VI). Based on the literature study, these compounds had never been reported to exist in zedoary.
